A new five-session online study begins January 13th. The Prayer of Manasseh, Psalm 151, and The Third Book of Maccabees are three short books from the Apocrypha that were not included in the Old Testament. Manasseh’s prayer deals with God’s commitment to show mercy for sinners who are willing to repent. The 151st Psalm is a David Psalm. Third Maccabees describes the challenges of Second Temple era Jewish immigrants living in a sometimes-hostile foreign land. This study also serves as an introduction to the Apocrypha and the Greek Septuagint.

It will not be necessary to have a Bible that includes the Apocrypha to participate in this study. The passages we will be reading will be included in the handouts on the website.

A new video and handout will be available on Northgate’s website each week prior to the discussion sessions (Monday evenings @ 6:30pm). To join the ZOOM discussion, or if you have additional questions, please contact send an email to [email protected] or call the church office at 972/252-8519. Sign-up sheets are also available in the Narthex.
